The word "character" comes from the root word, which means “to tear," "cut in," "engrave," or "cut into furrows.” Character is formed through an engraving process–a process of having cut into and indelibly marked into something else. In our lives, it is our experiences that literally are engraved into our souls building our personalities–and ultimately influencing our convictions, our desires, our actions, and our character.
